With VirtualDoxx, you can apply RFID tags to each of your file folders or other assets. These RFID tags can be scanned from a considerable distance, in some cases up to 40 feet away!

While RFID tracking is conceptually similar to Barcode tracking, the remote tracking capability of RFID means that you can track the location of records without touching them individually. An RFID scanner can read the RFID tags from MANY records all in one scan, and update the VirtualDoxx database automatically.

However RFID tracking is not necessarily a substitute for Barcode tracking. Combining RFID and Barcode tracking gives you the best of both worlds. You can use a barcode scanner or an RFID scanner, whichever is easiest in a given business process. This allows you to use simple barcode scanners, rather than more expensive RFID scanners, where appropriate.

VirtualDoxx is the EXCLUSIVE world-wide source for the RFID strip label shown below. It combines a normal adhesive strip label, using color-coding and barcode tracking, with a Gen2 Alien Higgs Squiggle RFID tag. This allows your to optimize your filing system:

• Color-coding provides easy visual identification of mis-files within the filing system
  - for example a MIS-FILED record will appear as a red color bar where all the color bars should be green
• Barcode tracking provides low-cost record tracking - a record can be easily identified with a quick scan, eliminating data entry errors
• RFID tracking provides either passive or active tracking of records - folders can be scanned and identified from a distance, without scanning each folder individually

The VirtualDoxx CheckMate device shown above can be used in conjunction with fixed RFID scanners to perform record Check-ins and Check-outs automatically, without ever logging on to VirtualDoxx.

• There are two photo eyes in the CheckMate - one on the IN side and another on the OUT side
• When either of the photo eye light beams is broken, the RFID scanner is turned on for a few seconds and scans all RFID tags within range
• The lights in the attached light stack give a visual indication of what the scanner is doing:
  • no lights - RFID Scanner is OFF and not emitting any RFID
  • green lignt - RFID scanner is on
  • yellow and red lights - RFID tags were found and successfully scanned
• The RFID tag information is uploaded to VirtualDoxx and the database is automatically updated
• An optional BUZZER or alarm can be activated if the scanner is turned on, but no records are scanned
